I have a little sister who is as cute as a button and we have just recently begun a tomato planting adventure in our garden. In the spirit of such a festive occasion, I've decided to do a post on the scrumptious-looking Madagascan Tomato Frog! Actually, the tomato frog is anything but scrumptious... while not toxic, it secretes a sticky white mucus that is very irritating to mucus membranes which is sure to drive off predators!
Luckily, our tomatoes won't have any sticky mucus.. I hope.

Wow, that is one cool frog!
I really enjoyed viewing these frog photos. Do you know about the symbolism of frogs in First Nations cultures? If not look it up on the internet or read the post titled "Frog Dreaming" in my personal blog and find some material for a future post. ;)
Currently Chytridiomycosis a very nasty fungal disease is wiping out amphibians around the world and an international campaign has been launched to help save the world’s amphibians from extinction.
The Amphibian Conservation Action Plan (ACAP) aims to protect the habitat of the amphibians while at the same time finding answers to the environmental problems they face. The largest initiative undertaken by ACAP is an amphibian version of Noah’s Ark(s) where the most vulnerable species are being moved into protected areas in zoos, aquariums, etc. around the world so their future survival can be guaranteed.
So there you have it. You now have two suggestions from an avid reader for future posts. ;)
