Habitat: South America, breeding in coastal Peru & Chile

Humbolt Penguins are medium-sized penguins, growing to be 26-28 inches long and 8-13 lbs. I first heard about Humbolt Penguins when a BBC News article (read it here) described a pair of male penguins - or "gay" penguins - in a zoo at Bremerhaven, northern Germany that ended up rearing an egg that had been rejected by its biological parents. Pretty interesting because it sparked a whole debate on whether animals have sexual preferences/can be suitable same-sex couples etc. I say go for it penguin dudes! What do you think about it??

Then, just yesterday I was on one of my favorite sites, Neatorama, and I found this ADORABLE video of some humbolt penguins chasing a butterfly at a zoo. You have to watch this, it will definitely put you in a good mood!!
