This very small but very cute bird is the African Pygmy Kingfisher. At only around 11-13 cm in length, this guy sticks to eating insects rather than fish like its cousins the River Kingfishers.

The African Pygmy Kingfisher is recognized by its call which sounds like a high pitched "tsip-tsip" when in flight. That noise reminds of me of something an insect (like a praying mantis?) might say. You are what you eat I guess.
