Ever since I was little, I've always had a fascination with animals; as any of my friends and family will surely attest to. It all began with a store called Curious Creatures (now out of business, at least where I live) and the crazy critters they kept there. The store showcased some really cool pets, like red-eyed tree frogs and love birds (both of which I ended up purchasing - thanks Mom and Dad!) and everyday I longed to see what the shop had in store. The people there got to know me so well that they would call my house whenever they got a new animal in just so I could be amongst the first to take a peak at it.

Over the years I ended up owning several species of lizards, frogs, newts, salamanders, mice, birds, turtles, and a hedgehog who was with me through the best of times and the worst of times (RIP Prickles).  Now I'm left with 4 wonderful dogs whom I miss terribly while away at college. Edit: I was getting lonely in my new apartment in LA so I decided to get not one, not two, but THREE kitties! I am officially a [crazy cool] cat lady.

And that leads me to the present where I currently attend UCLA (I'm a Junior right now) graduated in three years from UCLA and now work on the Dr. Phil show as a production assistant. Ideally, my dream would to have my own nature program and become the next big thang on Animal Planet, Discovery, BBC, or I mean I guess National Geographic would do. Hey, a girl can dream right?

So I hope you all enjoy my site and get to know some of the coolest, most bizarre and fascinating animals roaming around on our humble planet. Feel free to contact me with any submissions or comments you have!

    Keepin' it classy with creatures,

    Carly B.
